I‘m very excited to announce this project I’ve been working on. In the long-term, the goal is that Childlike Creative is a sustainable non-profit using art + community for social good in ver yspecific ways like workshops, community space, a community center, and a community kitchen funded by a day time cafe powered by grants and donations. For now though, this effort is my way of simultaneously seeing if I enjoy this aspect enough to pursue in this way and also is a data collection tool I can use in order to apply to grants for myself/this business.

What is a “Pay What You Can” Cafe?

It’s exactly as it sounds. The prices next to each item on the menu is the suggested costs and acts less like a purchase and more like a donation towards sustaining the costs of running the cart and also help me sustain my life (as in part, this effort will be my income and help me earn the money I need to be able to move in the fall). In addition, I will host game nights, movie nights, karaoke, etc. ALL FREE OF CHARGE and without the barrier of capitalism. True third spaces! I have a personal goal of 5,000 “orders” over the course of the summer!

I am currently open for working events, markets, or small gathering with this cart over the summer and fall.
